As host of the ground breaking multi-media brand “Understanding Cancer”, Stacey Gualandi brings compassion and integrity to this important and delicate subject. The website and nationally syndicated television show serve as a cancer support network for survivors, caregivers, family, friends and those recently diagnosed. Gualandi also recently became the host of Las Vegas-based “On Tour”, a music show highlighting the bands, singers and musicians performing in Sin City. And with years of covering the glamorous world of entertainment under her belt - from the Oscars and the Emmys to the Grammys and the Golden Globes - Gualandi shares her newsy style and extensive knowledge of reporting to the business of beauty as host of “The Beauty Show”.
There is very little this versatile Los Angeles-based talent won’t do for a story. She stayed awake for 80 hours to see the effects of sleep deprivation, and exposed a dishonest wedding photographer by posing as a blushing bride. Gualandi has gone undercover by pretending to be healed by a deceitful televangelist, has flown a plane after only 15 minutes of instruction, has attempted sheep riding and has even joined an all-female chain gang. And there isn’t a rollercoaster she won’t ride.
After developing her gutsy style of reporting at Extra, American Journal, and Strange Universe, Gualandi joined Inside Edition as Senior Correspondent. She has a reputation for asking tough questions, yet she will consistently put any interviewee at ease. Gualandi obtained the first interview with the eldest son of convicted sex offender Mary Kay Letourneau; she held her own with volatile actor Tom Sizemore when he stormed out of his interview, only to return to complete the sit-down. And she had a rare, exclusive interview with Kit Culkin, the estranged father of former child star Macauley Culkin, about his opinions on Michael Jackson. She also reported from the sidelines at the Super Bowl two years in a row, securing interviews with Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, and George Bush, Sr.
In addition to covering numerous celebrity court cases including Robert Blake, Michael Jackson and O.J. Simpson, the Michigan native reports extensively on Hollywood, most recently for The TV Guide Network on Lindsay Lohan’s DUI bust and Paris Hilton going to jail.
Gualandi made a mark in show business on the feature film Eight Men Out, where her duties included cleaning up horse manure from the movie set: her first scoop!!! She was Molly Ringwald’s stand-in on the movie Fresh Horses. And no Hollywood career would be complete without at least one game show appearance; Gualandi competed on Rendez-View, Hollywood Squares, and Match Game, where she took home $6,000!
Gualandi also devotes her time to charitable events. She served as host for the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program’s “Bogart Backstage”, the Youth Support Institute’s “Golden Youth Awards”, and the Jeremy McGrath Supercross Invitational. And she co-hosted the Miss Burbank pageant in 2001.
Gualandi earned a BS in Broadcast Journalism from Miami University and studied abroad in Luxembourg. She and her husband Marty live in Los Angeles and Las Vegas with their mutt Wally, and pet lovebirds Caesar and Cleopatra, the pit bulls of the bird world.
